EXP 2 peer marking

EXP 2 Moving element

The moving element in this animation is a rotating "window". Theoretically the window will rotate in time with the sun to maximise the light entering the outdoor meeting area. Although it is found higher on the wall, it is still able to create an immersive atmosphere by allowing natural light to enter the space

EXP 2 Axonometric GIF and 2-Point Perspective Drawings

Axonometric GIF

To represent the shape of the structure better, the rhombus shapes were simplified into rectangle and some of the forms in the back were simplified.

2-Point Perspective Drawing

Once again, the shapes were simplified for a better representation of the structure however only by removing the angled edges.

EXP 2 theory

The article I selected for my theory is about how orbital habitats designed by NASA in space impact our current architecture.
Fred Scharmen, "The Shape Of Space," Places Journal, August, 2018, https://placesjournal.org/article/the-shape-of-space/?cn-reloaded=1.

My choise words from the article:
  • Vertical
  • Weightlessness
  • Immersive

The way vertical architecture can create a sense of weightlessness on the exterior whilst maintaining an immersive experience within.
